Hello! And welcome to Avonlea Gardens & Inn!
Avonlea is a family-owned nursery and inn located in beautiful Chardon, Ohio. The family is me – Amy – my husband Joe, and our children (a.k.a. our staff!) – Melanie and her husband Adam, Tanner, Tressa, and Nicholas.
One of the best emails I have ever received was from the lovely Mary Slingluff, asking me if I was interested in working at her nursery, Avalon Gardens and Inn. I was! And so started a super-fun adventure that lead me here to you – and the birth of Avonlea Gardens and Inn.
After 23 years of owning, managing, and working at three businesses (yes, you read that correctly – three: the nursery, her B&B, and her farmer florist business), Mary has decided to focus solely on her Farmer Florist business, and the Goletz family purchased the nursery and the Inn.
Our main focus at our nursery is on native plants and nativars. We hope to share with you the importance of native plants in supporting our native wildlife. We also have a shop full of garden accessories within a barn that was built in 1901. Our accessories are beautiful and so is the barn!
We welcome you to stay at our Inn. The house is a century home with a unique vintage charm. You can rent either suite (the Rose Suite upstairs or the Bluebell Suite downstairs) or the whole house through Airbnb. Links to the Airbnb listings are found on the Inn webpage.
