Description
A multi-stemmed shrub. Dark-green leaves have a glossy upper surface, a duller lower surface and lack significant fall color. Interesting white globed-shaped flowers look like pin cushions with pins (extruding styles)! Spherical fruits persist through winter. Trunks are often twisted. Grows very well in wet soils, but adapts to a wide range of soils except dry ones. Attracts birds, butterflies. Special value to native bees and supports beneficial insects. Height: 5-12 ft. Spread: 4-8 ft.
