Description
Conical evergreen with spreading, horizontal sprays of fragrant, dark-green foliage which does not yellow in winter. Slow grower. Foliage is scale-like and appears in flat, fan-shaped clusters. Provides food and cover for birds.
‘Techny’ was selected for its compact size. It is a compact dwarf cultivar with a broad-based pyramid shape.
Prefers moist soils. Intolerant of drought, full shade and exposed windy sites. Per the Arbor Day Foundation, arborvitae have a slow (12″ or less) to medium (12-24″) growth rate.
