Description
An early bloomer for those pollinators looking for food when not much else is in bloom – a beautiful, dependable and productive plant! White, tubular, two-lipped flowers bloom in panicles atop erect, rigid stems and dark green leaves. Faint nectar guides are visible if you look closely at the flowers (nectar guides are the plant’s way of directing the pollinators to their reward). Will self-seed if happy. A mass planting of P. dIgitalis swaying in the breeze is stunning.
Attracts hummingbirds and butterflies. Special value to native bees.
Tolerant of occasional drought once established. Avoid overly wet, poorly drained conditions.
