A pretty flower to make you and the pollinators happy! Clump-forming habit. Semi-evergreen, deeply cut leaves turn reddish in fall. Upward-facing, cheerful lavender flowers. Distinctive seed capsules give rise to common name.
If happy, forms colonies over time via rhizomes and self-seeding. Foliage may yellow and decline in hot summers if soil is allowed to dry out.
