A nitrogen fixer! Branched stems with smooth, bright green leaves, and dense spikes of tiny white flowers around a cylinder-like cone. Flowers bloom bottom to top. Thick taproot. May self-seed. Important component of prairie restorations. Attracts birds, butterflies; special value to native bees. Height: 1-2 ft. Spread: 0.75-1.5 ft.
