Description
A stunning, large back of the border perennial with tiny cream to greenish-white flowers in large umbels, bright green leaves and hollow, purple-blotched stems. Pretty! Flowers are easy for insects to access, and are followed by dry, seed-like fruits.
Attracts butterflies, small bees, and supports beneficial insects. Larval host to swallowtails.
Prefers consistently moist soils and part shade, and lots of space! Happy in standing water. The root system is a short taproot. Angelica spreads by self-seeding. Individual plants can vary considerably in size depending on environmental conditions. Plants may be pruned early in the season to keep at a manageable height.
