Description
This panicum is a warm season bunch grass that grows best in dry sandy sites and may flop over in too much shade or with overly rich soils. It spread slightly via rhizomes. I would encourage you to leave bunch grasses standing over winter to provide wildlife habitat, and cut back (if desired) in early spring. ‘Dewey Blue’ is a beach grass noted for its attractive powder grey-blue foliage and fountain-like form. Light, airy, blue-tinged flowers are followed by tan seed heads that persist well into winter. Height: 3-4 ft. Spread: 2-3 ft. Family: Poaceae Sun: full sun to part shade Bloom time: July to February Bloom: Pink Water: dry to medium Deer resistant photo credit – Perennial Resources
