Bright lemon yellow flowers and fine green lacy foliage. Thrives in poor, sandy or rocky soils with good drainage. May spread aggressively by rhizomes and self-seeding. Promptly dead-head spent blossoms to promote rebloom – a tedious job but may use shears.
Attracts birds and butterflies.
‘Zagreb’ is a more compact version of the straight species, at half the height.
