Leaves are solid light green when they emerge, then quickly develop dramatic dark green borders and radiant gold centers; thick and glossy, they are also slug resistant. Light lavender flowers. High-filtered or dappled sunlight is necessary for clean, healthy growth. Morning sun is tolerable, but hot afternoon sun is usually deadly.
