Description
‘Coast to Coast’ is a giant, solid gold hosta that makes a striking specimen in the shade garden. Its foliage emerges gold in spring and turns lighter gold with a bit more sun exposure in the summer months. As the leaves mature, they become thick and puckered with wavy edges and have nearly white undersides. Height: 3 ft Spread: 3 ft Scape height: 3 ft Water: average and consistent Bloom time: mid-summer Attracts: hummingbirds and bees Hostas grow best in moist, well-drained, highly organic soils with a pH between 5.5 and 7.5. High-filtered or dappled sunlight is necessary for clean, healthy growth. Morning sun is tolerable, but hot afternoon sun is usually deadly. Hostas are very easy to propagate through division (can be done at any time during growing season). photo credit: Walters Gardens a Proven Winners plant
