Description
Clump-forming warm season grass. Fine textured, deep green leaves curve gracefully outward forming large, round tufts. Delicate seed heads appear above the tuft in midsummer. Fall color is tan-bronze. Beautiful when massed!
Prefers dry, rocky conditions, but is tolerant of a wide range of soils, even heavy clays. Slow-growing.

Extensive root system makes this a good grass for erosion control. Native grasses provide cover and food for songbirds, nesting material/structure for native bees, and are larval host plants.
