Description
Slender, upright, clump-forming, native warm season grass with incredible golden copper fall color. Seeds are striking when hit by sunlight. A pioneer soil stabilizing plant that does well in poor, infertile areas and surprisingly well in floodplains. Height: 2-3 ft. Spread: 1-2 ft. Family: Poaceae Sun: full sun Bloom time: September to November Bloom: violet Water: dry to medium Deer resistant Extensive root system makes this a good grass for erosion control. Native grasses provide cover for songbirds, nesting material/structure for native bees, and are larval host plants.
